I am the father of Apryl who is almost 9 and going in to 4th grade at Mesa View and Husband of Jeney Kingsbury who is a classified employee in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District.
I graduated Murrieta Valley High School in 1994 and went to work for the Murrieta Valley School District afterward. In 1995, at age 19, I successfully created my first business, a sprinkler repair and lawn service company, Sunbird Sprinkler. I spent the majority of my early twenties at Mt San Jacinto Community College, traveling across the USA and playing music in bands when I was not operating my small business.
In August of 2000 my daughter was born. Life can present many challenges and in the summer of 2001 I became a single father with sole custody of a little baby girl. In order to take care of my daughter as best as possible, I got a full time job at a local Pizza Factory and continued the side work of my sprinkler business. In 2002 I met Jeney Kingsbury and we were married on Valentines Day in 2004 in a small backyard ceremony at my parents home in Temecula. In 2003 I left my job at Pizza Factory and took a leap of faith and started my own event business, Full Value Entertainment after working part time for another talent agency that moved its offices to Hawaii. This choice forever altered my life and set me on the path to working with the City of Temecula in developing youth events.
I have been very active in the Art and Music scene in Riverside County for years now, Full Value Entertainment produces many teen concert events for the City of Temecula and in April 2008 I started ‘LIVE at The Merc‘ - a weekly concert series held in Old Town Temecula. I am a past Board member on the Arts Council of Temecula Valley, the past president and founder of FOMAA (Freedom of Music and Art) and I was on the steering committee for the City of Temecula's ‘Youth Master Plan’, a plan designed to lay out a framework for the future of Temecula's children. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for VOICES aka Joey's Pals based here in Romoland. I am also the founder and Director of the Temecula Music Fest, an event that takes place the 3rd weekend of every May in Temecula.
In looking for a larger home we found Menifee and have lived in the Heritage Lakes development since June of 2006. I love my local community and have felt welcomed by the residents of Romoland since moving here from Temecula.
I was elected in November of 2007 and I am honored to serve on the Romoland School District Board of Trustees. In the past two years in serving as Trustee I have seen how lucky we are in the Romoland School District. Many local school districts have declining enrollment, causing even bigger budget concerns. We are so blessed to be in a school district that is growing and developing into a powerhouse of education. Many thanks to the Parents who spend time helping the kids at home, the teachers who have done such a terrific job in the class, principals for leading the way and the district staff for providing support that is needed to make it all work on a daily basis.
I have graduated the CSBA Masters in Governance program in November 2008 and look forward to the opportunity in helping Romoland excel. As the area grows my goals are to see that test scores are higher each year, the kids are healthy, safe and happy. I want to make sure parents feel good about living in the Menifee, Romoland, Homeland and Perris areas and sending their kids to school here at the Romoland School District.
Professionally, I continue to operate both Full Value Entertainment and Sunbird Sprinkler and am currently enrolled in Real Estate principals classes. I will receive my licence later this year with plans to begin training so I can assume operations of the family business, Murrieta based Full Value Properties.
Between volunteer work, my job and my family I have extensive experience in working with children, teens and young adults. Many of the programs I have started or been a part of have yielded great results in keeping kids out of trouble and helping kids who are already on the right path stay there. These experiences also have provided me with skills in planning, budgets and leadership, all of which I use often in making decisions for the Romoland School District.
I hope to have your support in my effort to be Re-Elected to a second term as a Trustee for the Romoland School District.
If you have any questions, have a great idea or have a concern, please contact me during the day at 951.491.9053 or email me at my district email address; bgould@romoland.k12.ca.us at any time - day or night. I will always do my best to get back to you within 24 hours.
